I realize I have been remiss in posting a photo of my new beast. Without further ado:
The details:
- 2010 BMW F800GS, Lava Orange
- Standard package: Heated grips, ABS, On-board computer, white turn signals
- Center stand
- 64 miles
No, it doesn’t have a name yet. I’ve had several people comment on how it lo0ks like an insect, so there are some options there.

Somewhat reminiscent of a soldier beetle, yes. Or orange mud/potter wasps (family Vespidae!).

Jenny, your brain is awesome!
heh heh… you said “standard package”
need to do something about the mileage though.
Yeah, I’m working on that. Just spent a little time mapping out a rough Spring/Summer 2011 route, and came out around 11,500km.
To my eyes, with a bust like that, it’s a she, looks like Halloween in NeoTokyo, and you look bitchin’ riding her. The radio in your car was off as I followed you home from picking it up, but there was nevertheless a sense of theme music.
It sounded a lot like this:

So, both being German in origin, I nominate you call her…”Nina”
Lava Orange?
Awesome.
Yep! If things hadn’t gotten so hectic at Park Pub the other night, I would’ve shown you the new beast. It was parked across the street.
With a color like Lava Orange, I’m gonna suggest: Kilauea :)
